Cuz I’m T-N-T!
In their finest overall effort since the Northstars game, TNT whipped first-place Team MTSU in every aspect of play Sunday night. At least four of the MTSU players were so distraught by the 9-5 shellacking that they left the ice without lining up to shake hands.
In an unprecedented display of dedication to Men’s League hockey, Tommy Kunath dropped off a rack of full water bottles midway through the first period, then mysteriously left the rink without ever lacing up.
The blue bucket line of Ryan and Brandon Latreille centered by Jason “Good Hands” Porter came alive with a dominant 3-period effort, a goal each by Ryan and Porter and a pair of scores by Brandon. Skillfu centerman play by Jim Fish ignited the other line, as he netted two of his own and assisted two for Long plus another for Ben “Wheels” Fehr. Rumblin’ Roland Baggot and Matt Broadus turned in another shut-down defensive effort despite going 3-D with help from a fill-in sub.
Ryan Superman from the ‘08-’09 team takes most of the credit for this win, as his appearance behind the bench and unsolicited advice throughout the game surely sealed the victory for the boys.
Next game is Sunday 11/22 at 7:40 against Benders.
